Search or Browse the Guide to Educational Resources on Farm Direct Marketing

Background
The Guide to Educational Resources on Farm Direct Marketing was developed in conjunction with a project presenting direct marketing workshops in five western states-California, Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, and Hawaii. Items included in this guide were screened and selected by the project team, all of whom have experience in agricultural direct marketing education. Our selection criteria required that the content of each be:

Practical and immediately adaptable to farm businesses.
Current, or if older, considered a "classic."
Regional or state applicability.
High quality writing and graphics.
Useful in an educational setting.
Easy to obtain, either on-line or through local bookstores.

We hope this online publication increases awareness about direct marketing opportunities in agriculture and assists those interested in developing and implementing their direct marketing plans.

Acknowledgments
Thanks to Karen Levy for her assistance in researching and organizing the initial version of this publication. Thanks also to the project team members: Cinda Williams (Idaho), Larry Lev and Garry Stephenson (Oregon), Dennis Lamm and Rod Sharp (Colorado), and Dick Bowen (Hawaii).

If you have other direct marketing resources that you think should be added to this guide, you may email that information to David Chaney (dechaney@ucdavis.edu). Please include the complete reference (title, author, publisher, year) and information on how to order or access the publication. Submission does not guarantee inclusion in the guide. All submitted items must be reviewed and approved by SARE Outreach before posting to the database. Thank you for your participation.

The Guide to Educational Resources on Farm Direct Marketing was funded by SARE Outreach for the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program. SARE is funded by the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES), USDA, and works with producers, researchers, and educators to promote farming systems that are profitable, environmentally sound, and good for communities. SARE Outreach operates under a Cooperative Agreement with CSREES to develop and disseminate information about sustainable agriculture.
