Center for Rural & Small Business Development

The Center for Rural and Small Business Development operates as the result of a contractual agreement between Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Business-Cooperative Service.

The scope of work for the Center is to provide information and technical assistance to under-represented groups in traditionally agricultural and otter natural resources dependent communities by encouraging business development.

Specifically, the Center's staff provides assistance in the following areas:

The Center provides management and technical assistance to under-represented persons in the parishes of East Feliciana, St.Helena, Tangipahoa, Iberville, St.Landry and Evangeline.

The Center's office is housed at the Southern University Ag Center (on the corner of B.A.Little Drive and James L. Hunt Street) on the campus of Southern University at Baton Rouge. The ohysical room location is 242 A & B of the A.O. Williams Hall.
