Organic Grains and Field Crops: Opportunity for Agriculture in North Carolina

Market growth for organic crops is predicted to continue the 23% annual growth rate of the past 10 years (OTA 2004). Organic grain is playing a large and growing part in this industry, and North Carolina is poised to be a player in the organic grain market. The demand for organic grain in North Carolina is growing each year. Organic mills and livestock and dairy producers in the state need organic grain and forage crops. There is a great opportunity for farmers interested in organic grain production to meet this demand.

This website has been developed to provide information on organic grain crop production, certification and marketing for farmers, Extension agents and others interested in organic grain crops.
