509 Capitol Court Campaign

About the Campaign

Front of buildingTwenty years ago, conservation district leaders got together and renewed the energy of conservation districts across the country when they purchased a three-level townhouse office near our nation’s capitol. The office at 509 Capitol Court, NE in Washington D.C., has been "home" to district leaders, national officers and dedicated staff for the last twenty years.

We now have an opportunity to enhance the initial investment of conservation leaders and continue to enhance our national vision and presence for conservation districts. After twenty years, the national office building is now in desperate need of maintenance, repairs and changes in order to make better use of the building for NACD operations in the 21st century.

We envision two phases: one to raise the funds needed to complete the needed repairs and building enhancements, estimated at $280.000 and the second to raise funds to set up a reserve account to provide for future upkeep. The funds raised in the campaign will be separated from normal operations and managed for the sole purpose of continuing care of our building. Your support is crucial.

Phase 1: Primary Improvements
Phase 1 of the campaign requires $280,000 to complete needed repairs and building improvements. Read a more detailed description of the proposed changes, repairs, and improvements.
