Department of CIVIL ENGINEERING
Civil Engineering is a diverse department that awards accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering, Bio-Resources Engineering (an option of Civil Engineering), and Construction Engineering Technology. The Division of Graduate Education awards Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering and in Environmental Engineering, plus the Master of Construction Engineering Management degree. The College of Engineering awards a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering, with options that include Civil Engineering, Applied Mechanics, and Environmental Engineering.
The Department of Civil Engineering has strong affiliation with the Western Transportation Institute (WTI) and the Center for Biofilm Engineering (CBE), a graduated NSF research center. The department is also home to the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and is affiliated with a Montana Department of Transportation Design Unit located on the MSU campus.
