Microbial Genome Sequencing Program
As a collaborative, interagency effort, CSREES and the National Science Foundation (NSF) will be inviting research proposals to support high-throughput sequencing of the genomes of microorganisms and the metagenomes of mixed microbial communities and to develop and implement strategies, tools and technologies to make currently available and novel genome sequences more valuable to the user community. Approximately $10 million is anticipated, pending availability of funds, with awards ranging between $100,000 to $1,200,000 total, for periods of up to three years. For more information, see the related program announcement.
