Advanced Training in Ecological Restoration

Where theory meets practice

The School of Environmental Studies and the Division of Continuing Studies at the University of Victoria invite you to participate in the 2009 Restoration Institute. It is tentatively scheduled for June 17 - 21, 2009 at the University of Victoria in Victoria, BC.

Find Out What Happened During the 2008 Institute

The Restoration Institute is an international forum to share knowledge on areas of emerging importance in the field of ecological restoration. The Institute will particularly be of interest to industry and agency professionals and advanced students who are seeking innovative leadership and learning opportunities. This year’s Institute focuses on “Ecological Restoration & Climate Change,” specializing in three focus areas: coastal restoration, target-setting, and ecological goods and services. The Institute will include workshops, field research, master-classes, speakers, dialogue sessions, and courses.

Restoration Institute’s Mission

To provide:

  • Leadership in ecological restoration through innovative regional, national and international opportunities
  • Integrated knowledge on areas of emerging importance (climate change, invasive species, and others)
  • Professional training for industry leaders, agency officials, researchers, and students, presented on a level platform
  • An effective approach to marrying theory and practice
