ICES/PICES/UNCOVER Symposium 2009 on

Rebuilding Depleted Fish Stocks -
Biology, Ecology, Social Science and Management Strategies

Objective

ICESPICES and the EU-funded project UNCOVER are inviting research scientists, managers, policy-makers and other stakeholders to present and discuss recent status and strategies for the recovery of overexploited fish stocks. Biological, ecological, modelling as well as socio-economic and management aspects will be covered. By exchanging information from the ICES and PICES areas and other parts of the world we hope to advance our know-ledge on how to achieve sustainable fisheries. The symposium should also serve as a forum to exchange ideas and views accross disciplines and between scientists, fishing industry and managers.

Contributions

Papers and posters are invited for presentation in one of the five theme sessions (see Program), covering a broad range of topics linked to the depletion and rebuilding of fish stocks. Contributions will be peer reviewed and published as proceedings in a special volume of the ICES Journal of Marine Science ICES Journal of Marine Science
