OSU Ag Students Receive $11,700 in Scholarships


CORVALLIS, Ore. – Fourteen undergraduates in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at Oregon State University have been selected to receive scholarships totaling $11,700 in 2008-09.

A committee of faculty members within the department selects students for the scholarships each year. The funds are given to undergraduates who major in agricultural business management or environmental economics, policy, and management. The students belong to the College of Agricultural Sciences.

Albany, Ore.
• Andrea Bruce, senior, agricultural business management, received a $1,000 Agricultural Cooperative Council of Oregon Scholarship Award.

Caldwell, Idaho
• Kimberly Lyon, sophomore, agricultural business management, received a $1,000 Agricultural Cooperative Council of Oregon Scholarship Award.

Corvallis, Ore.
• James Rice, senior, agricultural business management, received a $1,000 William P. "Chip" Harris Memorial Scholarship.

Dundee, Ore.
• Lindsay Vial, junior, agricultural business management, received $1,000 from the Ermine L. and Norma Olson Potter Memorial Fund.

Eagle, Idaho
• Ryan Green, freshman, environmental economics, policy, and management received a $500 D. Curtis Mumford Award.

Eugene, Ore.
• Collin Kayser, senior, agricultural business management, received a $200 LeRoy Breithaupt Award.

Gearhart, Ore.
• Marcie Falleur, junior, agricultural business management, received a $1,000 Dustin Goedeck Memorial Scholarship.

Gold Beach, Ore.
• Eric Zuber, junior, environmental economics, policy, and management, received $1,000 from the Ermine L. and Norma Olson Potter Memorial Fund.

Hood River, Ore.
• Danielle Peters, junior, agricultural business management, received a $500 Oregon Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers Award.

Lakeview, Ore.
• Wade Foster, senior, environmental economics, policy, and management, received $1,000 from the Ermine L. and Norma Olson Potter Memorial Fund.

Langlois, Ore.
• Emy Guynup, junior, agricultural business management, received a $1,000 Edward Earnest Scholarship in Agribusiness Management.

Monroe, Ore.
• Shiann Ashenbrenner, senior, environmental economics, policy, and management, received a $1,000 William P. "Chip" Harris Memorial Scholarship.
• Mark Goracke, junior, agricultural business management, received a $1,000 William P. "Chip" Harris Memorial Scholarship.

Roseburg, Ore.
• Ashley Ritchie, senior, agricultural business management, received a $500 E.L. Potter Scholarship.
