Workshop to Update Public Employees, Retirees on Status of PERS

CORVALLIS, Ore. – A free public workshop aimed at members of the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System and PERS retirees will be held on Tuesday, March 4, at Oregon State University.

The session, “The Current and Future Legal and Financial Status of PERS,” runs from 3 to 5 p.m. in the east wing of Withycombe Hall on the OSU Campus (30th and Campus Way). Public employees and retirees from OSU and other agencies and institutions in Benton County are invited to attend.

Presenters include Paul Cleary, executive director of PERS, and Greg Hartman, a Portland attorney who frequently represents retirees on PERS-related issues. They will present the latest legal and financial developments relevant to public employees and retirees.

This is the second year such a workshop has been offered. Both are sponsored by the OSU Retirement Association.
