Policy Awards

GSA offers awards to federal executive agency teams and individual employees. These awards recognize contributions toward improving management practices and promote effective policy implementation within a broad range of program areas. Federal Aviation Awards - GSA sponsors the Federal Aviation Awards annually to honor the safest and most effective and efficient federal aviation programs.

Federal Mail Best Practice Awards - The Federal Mail Best Practices Awards were designed to honor those federal mail employees who are responsible for managing mail communications and employees working in federal mail centers to develop and implement innovative policies and practices.

Fleet Manager of the Year - These governmentwide awards (one for managers of fleets of 500 or more vehicles, and one for managers of fleets smaller than 500 vehicles) were established to recognize and honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skills and abilities in the federal motor vehicle fleet management profession. The awards are named in honor of Mr. Bob Baker who was a founding member of the Federal Fleet Policy Council (FedFleet) as well as a long time fleet manager of the Navy.

Gold Star Award - This award will be presented annually to recognize a federal agency's innovative implementation of Executive Order 12999. GSA's goal in presenting this award is to publicly recognize and draw attention to the federal government's commitment to improving access to computer technology in American education.

Miles Romney Achievement Award - The Miles Romney Achievement Award for Innovation in Personal Property Management was instituted in 1998 by the Office of Governmentwide Policy, Office of Transportation and Personal Property. This is awarded to agencies that have successfully shown improvements in the field of Personal property management and for innovative Best Practices that they have implemented.

Achievement Award for Real Property Innovation - GSA established the Achievement Award for Real Property Innovation in 1997 to serve as a catalyst for all federal agencies to improve real property management in the government.

Travel & Relocation Innovation Award - GSA advocates world-class innovations and leading practices by honoring federal travel and relocation management and workplace development. This biennial award is to acknowledge travel and relocation best practices and improvements in the federal government.
