Johnson Joins OSU Extension as Staff Chair in Harney County

BURNS, Ore. – Dustin Johnson, a range scientist specializing in livestock management, has joined Oregon State University as staff chair of the Harney County office of OSU Extension.

He succeeds Dave Chamberlain, who retired this year after a long career working with livestock and range-management issues and 4-H youth in Harney County.

Johnson's background in rangeland ecology and livestock production includes experience in research and management in both public and private lands. He has worked as a range conservationist with the Bureau of Land Management in Burns and as a field technician for the USDA Agricultural Research Service at the Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center based in Burns.

Johnson will head the OSU Extension staff in Harney County, where programs include family and community development, 4-H youth development, agriculture, livestock, and business and information technology.
