USDA Resources
Farm Service Agency Disaster Assistance
- Emergency Loans - help producers recover from production and physical losses due to drought, flooding, other natural disasters, or quarantine.
- Emergency Conservation Program - provides emergency funding and technical assistance for farmers and ranchers to rehabilitate farmland damaged by natural disasters and for carrying out emergency water conservation measures in periods of severe drought.
- The Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program - provides financial assistance to producers of noninsurable crops when low yields, loss of inventory, or prevented planting occurs due to natural disasters.

Organizations Accepting Donations to Assist Farmers
Oxfam America's Hurricane Katrina Response and Recovery Fund
Oxfam's relief efforts are focusing on poor rural and urban residents, many of whom are African-American farmers, migrant farm workers, and immigrant dock workers.
National Family Farm Coalition
The Coalition has re-activated its Credit Task Force and will be working to ensure federal disaster assistance meets the needs of family farmers.

Farmers' Guide to Disaster Assistance (5th edition 2004)
This publication from the Farmers' Legal Action Group describes in plain language the rules for programs such as FEMA assistance, federal crop insurance, USDA's Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program, and Emergency Loans from USDA's Farm Service Agency.
