The aim of the Best SF Gateway is to link to the 'best' online short SF and the criteria for 'best' is currently:

• online versions of stories which have appeared in print in professional magazines or printed collections of short SF
• stories which have appeared only (or initially) in electronic format in one of the 'major' e-magazines
• otherwise non-qualifying stories by authors who have had several stories in the above categories

There's a huge amount of online SF out there, so to help you find the best of the best, here is a monthly recommendation:

Dec 2008 : Vonda N. McIntyre has been writing high quality SF for some time now, and back in 2005 her story Little Faces really impressed me. It's a far-future setting, but looks at what it is (or will be) to be human. Enjoy.
