Passports: Regional Agencies

If a passport is needed urgently (generally in less than two weeks), it may be possible to obtain one at one of the Passport Services Office's regional agencies. These offices only take applications through appointments made by calling the National Passport Information Center (NPIC) in advance. There is no charge for making an appointment, and applicants should not pay anyone or any business making such a charge.

In addition, a Special Issuance Agency handles Diplomatic, Official, No-Fee and Congressional referrals.

If you need to obtain or renew a passport book or card at one of these facilities, please verify in advance the forms of payment they accept as well as directions to the facility. You may obtain this information from the web page for the applicable facility, or by calling the NPIC.
