Website Goal

The National Water Program Website seeks to improve communication and coordination within the CSREES/Land Grant University network and to its national and regional partners. The site is designed for scientists, instructors, and extension educators to learn about successful water quality improvement programs across the nation by linking to Regional Water Coordination Programs or browsing through content of the national topical themes, accomplishments, and success stories. We also provide links to or details on National Facilitation, Extension Education, and Integrated Research, Education, and Extension, and National Research Initiative (NRI, Water and Watersheds) projects funded by the CSREES National Integrated Water Quality Program (NIWQP). The site does not directly support extensive information on local water quality programs and issues. Rather, it is intended to direct extension clientele and local decision makers to online resources developed by their state and local experts.

This website is a product of the Communication Standing Committee (chaired by Art Gold, Director of the New England Regional Water Program) of the Committee for Shared Leadership of the NIWQP. It is developed, hosted, and maintained at the University of Rhode Island (URI) by Kelly Addy and Aimee Mandeville in a partnership between the URI Cooperative Extension Water Quality Program external link and the URI Environmental Data Center external link.

Website Development Resources

In order to improve communication and coordination within the CSREES/Land Grant University Water Program network, we have developed a website development resource page to assist members in the network in building effective websites.
