Aug  4Cheyenne recorded its warmest daily average temperature on record on this day in
               1979 with an average daily temperature of 79 degrees.

               On this day in 1927 Cheyenne recorded the last of  8 consecutive days with at least
               a tenth of an inch of rainfall. 

Aug  5:  On this day in 1927 Chadron, Nebraska recorded its greatest daily rainfall in the month
               of August when 2.06 inches drenched the city. 

Aug  6:  On this day in 1993 a severe thunderstorm produced hail from 1 to 1.75 inches in
               diameter in and around Scottsbluff.  Also on this day in 1981, hail up to 4 inches
               in diameter fell from a severe storm near Pine Bluffs, Wyoming.

Aug  7:  Scottsbluff recorded its greatest daily rainfall amount for the month of August on
               this day in 1915 when 2.30 inches of rain fell onto the town. 

Aug  8:  Unusually cool temperatures were recorded over parts of southern Wyoming on
               this day in 1996.  Lows of 36 degrees were recorded at Saratoga and Shirley 
               Basin, while Laramie and Rawlins bottomed out at 39 degrees.

Aug  9:  Thunderstorms brought heavy rains to some areas on this day in 1968.  3.18
               inches of rain fell near Lusk, Wyoming, while Sidney, Nebraska was drenched
               with 2.18 inches of rain.

Aug 10: On this day in 1998 lightning killed a hiker in the Snowy Range southwest of
               Arlington, Wyoming.
