This video provides background information concerning the proposed rule for integrity management of distribution pipelines. The information it contains is believed to be accurate but does not constitute an official interpretation of the proposed rule and may not be referenced in legal/enforcement proceedings. In the event of any differences between the information in this video and in the proposed rule, the language of the proposed rule governs.

The Gas Piping Technology Committee (GPTC) guidelines for implementing the proposed gas distribution integrity management rule are not based on the actual provisions of the proposed rule because GPTC did not have this information. PHMSA understands that GPTC will review and revise the guidelines, as necessary, once a final rule is issued.
