International Activities

Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP)

Through partnerships with other countries and international organizations OPP works to develop common or compatible international approaches to pesticide review, registration and standards-setting and to support and influence activities to reduce pesticide risks and improve the safety of pesticide use.

Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT)

OPPT is an active partner with the Department of State and other U.S. agencies in a number of international activities. These activities range from participation in conferences and meetings to development of agreements and negotiations promoting community right-to-know objectives, the manufacture, use, management and disposal of heavy metals and other chemicals, and chemical testing. All of these activities are complementary to, and contribute to, accomplishment of OPPT's domestic mission and our responsibilities under various laws and international agreements.
