Title:  Measures of Socio-Emotional Development in Middle Childhood
Description: This working paper was prepared in support of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 1998-1999 (ECLS-K) instrument development efforts. The paper focuses on research regarding the measurement of social and emotional development in middle childhood. Reviewed are critical constructs and the self-report measurement instruments that are available for studying them. Special attention is devoted to potential measures for use by the ECLS-K in grades 3 and 5.
