2009 Program Schedule

We would like to invite you to our offering of educational and recreational programs at Buffumville Lake in Charlton, and Hodges Village Dam in Oxford, Massachusetts. These family-oriented activities include trail walks, canoe trips, water safety demonstrations, star gazing, a Junior Ranger session, wetland workshops, volunteer work days, dam tours, and more. Many programs are co-sponsored with the HodgesVillage Environmental Education Association.

All Corps of Engineers-programs are open to the public and best of all, they are free. All ages are welcome; however, we do ask adults to accompany their children. Please call at 508-248-5697 or e-mail the Person in Charge of the event at the Buffumville Lake Office before attending our programs as the schedule is subject to change. Information on programming is also available on bulletin boards at Buffumville Park, Buffumville Dam, and Hodges Village Dam.

To get to Hodges Village Dam....

Hodges Village Dam is located in Oxford, Massahcusetts, easily accessible from the Massachusetts Turnpike and Interstate 395. Take Exit 4B on I-395 to Oxford. Go through Oxford Center and continue straight for one-half mile to Howarth Road. Turn right. From the Massachusetts Turnpike, take the Sturbridge exit and follow Route 20 to Charlton. From here take a right on to Route 31 and follow the signs to Hodges Village Dam.

To get to Buffumville Lake....

From Interstate 395, take Exit 4B Oxford center. Continue straight for 3 miles to Buffumville Park. The Buffumville Lake office is on Old Oxford Road (Buffums Dam Road) 2 1/2 mile from the Interstate. From the Massachusetts Turnpike, take the Sturbridge exit and follow Route 20 to Charlton. Take a right onto Route 31 and follow the signs to Buffumville Lake.
