The Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives, Office of the Director, National Cancer Institute (NCI), will hold a public pre-application meeting for investigators planning to submit applications in response to Request for Applications (RFA) CA-09-009 "Physical Science-Oncology Centers (U54)” (http://grants1.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-CA-09-009.html).

This pre-application meeting will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, at the William H. Natcher Conference Center, Main Auditorium, National Institutes of Health, 45 Center Drive, Bethesda, MD.

Prospective applicants are invited to attend this public meeting as an opportunity to ask questions and receive additional information pertinent to Physical Science-Oncology Centers.  A short web-based presentation will be made and followed by a discussion session via teleconference.  Representatives from the following NCI offices will be available to discuss the intent and requirements of the RFA CA-09-009: Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives, NCI; Office of Grants Administration, NCI; and the Special Review and Resources Branch, Division of Extramural Activities, NCI.

This meeting is open to the public and will be available via web cast at http://videocast.nih.gov. An archived recording of the web cast will be available after the meeting at http://videocast.nih.gov/pastevents.asp.

Participation in the meeting, although encouraged, is optional and not required for application submission.
