Female Volunteers Needed

The Behavioral Endocrinology Branch, NIMH, is seeking female volunteers ages 18-55 to participate in studies of the effects of menstrual cycle hormones on brain and behavior. Volunteers must have regular menstrual cycles with no changes in mood in relationship to menses, be free of medical illnesses and not taking any hormones or medication on a regular basis. They will complete daily rating forms and be offered participation in one or more protocols. Payment will be in accordance with the duration of each visit and the type of protocol. Healthy Volunteers Needed

NIAID is seeking healthy male and female volunteers ages 18-40 years for a research study to determine whether lopinavir/ritonavir (anti-viral medication) has direct effects on how the lining of the arteries function before and after receiving 4 weeks of therapy. To participate, you must be a non-smoker in good health, not be HIV-infected and not be taking any chronic medications. Participants will be compensated. Call Jocelyn Voell, (301) 435-7913.

NIAID Study Recruits

HIV+ volunteers with CD4 T cells greater than 500 cells/mm3 and viral loads less than 50 copies/mL are needed for a treatment-interruption study. Participants may be eligible for this study if they have never received IL-2, have never had a CD4+ count under 200 cells/mm3, do not have any significant medical problems, and are willing to stop their antiretroviral medications with close supervision. Attractiveness and Health Study

What is attractive and healthy to you? The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences is conducting a study examining definitions of attractiveness and health among African American and Caucasian women between ages 18-60. Participation includes completing questionnaires and attending a one-time interview in Bethesda. Volunteers will be paid for their participation.
