Cumulative Evidence of Genetic Associations
The following systematic reviews examined the epidemiologic evidence between genes and diseases using a quantitative approach and were added to PubMed in January:

• Genetic variation in CYP17 and endometrial cancer risk.

• CHEK*1100delC genotyping for clinical assessment of breast cancer risk: Meta-analyses of 26,000 patient cases and 27,000 controls.

Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAs)
The following genome wide association studies were added to PubMed in January:

• Genome-wide pharmacogenomic analysis of the response to Interferon beta therapy in multiple sclerosis.

• Genome-wide scan identifies variation in MLXIPL associated with plasma triglycerides.

• Common variants in the GDF5-UQCC region are associated with variation in human height.

• Newly identified loci that influence lipid concentrations and risk of coronary artery disease.

• Genome-wide association study identifies genes for biomarkers of cardiovascular disease: serum urate and dyslipidemia.

As of January 30, 2008, the HuGE Navigator  contains 31,902 research studies, referencing 3,217 genes,and 1,948 health outcomes/diseases. Both epidemiologic studies and review articles can be found in the database which includes 65 HuGE Reviews and 673 meta-analyses.
