Fifth in the series, Pacific Studies, this
publication is designed as a resource volume covering the region,
which is defined broadly to include all countries around the
rim of the Pacific Ocean as well as all Pacific Islands. As
such, it includes three sections. the first shows maps of the
Asia-Pacific region, including both historical and current maps
covering such topics as European expansion into Asia, international
telecommunications, tourism, migration, trade flows, and multinational
company penetration. The second section is a country by country
digest which presents, for each country covered, a brief historical
background and charts showing current demographic, economic,
and social indicators, followed by suggestions for further reading.
The third section is devoted to providing the text of key documents
reflecting contemporary Asia-Pacific relations, as well as a
selection of documents offering some insight into the historical
background of the region.

international trade companies in 180 countries. It consists
of four volumes. Volumes 1-3 provide company listings within
geographic sections. Each entry contains company name, complete
address, telephone, fax and telex numbers, executive officer
names and titles, financial data, emplyee figures, product lines
based on the Harmonized
System as well as industry activity by SIC
Codes. The directory also lists nearly 100 world trade centers
and their affiliates with complete address, contact information,
operational status, and executive officer names and titles.
Volume 4 provides three indices to access company information.
The Product Index organizes companies by specific product line,
the SIC Index arranges companies by SIC code, and the Alphabetic
index lists all companies alphabetically.
