During 2000--2003, Hispanic adults in the United States were more than twice as likely to be without health insurance
than non-Hispanic adults. This disparity was even greater for Hispanics who lived along the U.S.--Mexico border, who were
more than three times as likely as non-Hispanics to be without health insurance.
