AGRICOLA, National Agricultural Library

AGRICOLA (AGRICultural OnLine Access) is a bibliographic database of citations to agricultural literature. The database covers materials in all formats, including printed works from the 15th century. It encompasses all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and farming systems, agricultural economics, extension and education, food and human nutrition, and earth and environmental sciences. Many records are linked to full-text documents.

CATALPA (the Library Catalog of the LuEsther T. Mertz Library)

A database of bibliographic records for all books and serials held by the Library. Users are able to select, save and export records.

Corps of Engineers Library Information Online (CELIO)

CELIO is the database/electronic catalog of the collections of all libraries within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The database includes a browse search and an express search for Boolean queries. Some material is available electronically in full-text.

EPA NSCEP, national publications catalog

The National Service Center for Environmental Publications (NSCEP) (formerly NCEPI) is a central repository of more than 7,000 EPA documents in paper and/or electronic format available for free distribution.

GrayLIT Network, a science portal of technical reports

The GrayLIT Network is the world's most comprehensive portal to Federal gray literature. It taps into the search engines of distributed gray literature collections, enabling the user to find information without first having to know the sponsoring agency.

Information Bridge: DOE Scientific and Technical Information

The Information Bridge: DOE Scientific and Technical Information provides free public access to full-text and bibliographic records of Department of Energy (DOE) research and development reports in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental sciences, energy technologies, engineering, computer and information science, renewable energy, and other topics. Documents are primarily from 1994 forward. Legacy documents are added as they become available in electronic format.

Library of Congress Online Catalog

The Library of Congress Online Catalog is a database of records representing the vast collection of materials held by the Library. The database contains approximately 14 million records representing books, serials, computer files, manuscripts, cartographic materials, music, sound recordings, and visual materials. In addition to these records, the Online Catalog provides cross-references, notes, and circulation status, as well as information about Library materials still in the acquisitions stage.

Louisiana Library Connection Databases

The Louisiana Library Connection databases allow registered patrons of parish libraries and the State Library of Louisiana remote access to a variety of subscription databases. A valid public library card is required to access these resources.

National Sea Grant Library Database

The National Sea Grant Library database contains full bibliographic citations, some with abstracts and some full-text, of Sea Grant funded work covering a wide variety of subjects, including oceanography, marine education, aquaculture, fisheries, aquatic nuisance species, coastal hazards, seafood safety, limnology, coastal zone management, marine recreation and law.

National Technical Information Service (NTIS)

NTIS is the largest central resource for government-funded scientific, technical, engineering, and business related information available. The NTIS Library’s search page allows searches for documents published since 1990. The database indexes the titles and, in some cases, abstracts. It also links to the full-text of some publications.

NOAA Central Library (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)

NOAA Central Library's collection is multidisciplinary. Disciplines include oceanography, ocean engineering, marine resources, ecosystems, coastal studies, atmospheric sciences (climatology and meteorology), geodesy, geophysics, cartography, mathematics, and statistics.

TreeSearch

TreeSearch is an online system for locating and delivering publications by Research and Development scientists in the USDA Forest Service. Publications in the collection include research monographs published by the agency as well as papers written by FS scientists but published by other organizations in their journals, conference proceedings, or books.

USGS Alaska Science Center (ASC) Publications

This database contains citations and abstracts to locate published works by ASC biological researchers, but does not include the full-text.

USGS Columbia Environmental Research Center (CERC) Library

The CERC library has a specialized collection relating to the fields of fishery biology, ecology, microbiology, environmental toxicology, fish behavior, invertebrate zoology, statistics, biochemistry, environmental and analytical chemistry and large river ecosystem. The CERC Library does not have a publicly available online catalog.

USGS Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center (FRESC) Publications

USGS Fort Collins Science Center Library and Information Services

Fort's in-house library maintains a specialized collection of over 12,000 items, including current maps and atlases, in-house reports, and federal and state publications and documents that have limited distribution. The library subscribes to select scientific journals in biology, wildlife, fisheries, ecology, forestry, statistics, economics, and social sciences as they relate to natural resources. The FORT Library does not have a publicly available online catalog.

U.S. Geological Survey Libraries

The U.S. Geological Survey Library is the largest library for earth sciences in the world. The library system includes four libraries and is part of the Geographic Information Office of the USGS.

The online catalog provides access to the collections of the Leetown library and its branches. The focus is on aquaculture, fish health, genetics, and aquatic ecosystems.

USGS National Wetlands Research Center (NWRC) Library

USGS National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) Library

Library collections include material on assessing the impact of disease on wildlife and identifying the role of various pathogens in contributing to wildlife losses. The NWHC Library does not have a publicly available online catalog.

USGS Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center (NPWRC) Library

The NPWRC Library provides access to the catalog and databases maintained by the library. The collection focuses on waterfowl and ecology.

USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center (PWRC) Library

The collection focuses on amphibians and reptiles, biodiversity, birds, contaminants, monitoring, populations, and wetlands and communities as related to wildlife research. New publications since 1981 have been cataloged electronically, plus many older items have also been converted. However, many pre-1981 items are not represented in the online catalog.

The Reports and Publications page links to publications produced by UMESC researchers and includes links to the publications citation database and the reports citation database.

USGS Publications Warehouse

The reports and thematic maps database currently contains more than 69,000 USGS bibliographic citations, including USGS numbered series begun as early as 1880. Availability of content ranges from full-text to bibliographic citation only. The database will eventually include citations for all USGS-authored products. Currently it primarily contains products published by the USGS.
