摘要

工作場所是對面臨健康風險的大批成年人提供有效慢性病干預計畫的強有力環境。錯過預防性醫療照護是低收入和沒有醫療保險的工人所特有的問題。工人患慢性病的成本,包括醫療費、生產率損失和員工更替成本,已促使雇主尋求既有效又合乎成本效益的健康促進干預手段。工作場所有四種途徑提供預防性干預手段:醫療保險、工作場所政策、健康促進計畫以及宣傳。對於每一種途徑,各項證據都描述了若干適用於工作場所的預防性干預手段。依據這些證據及我們在華盛頓州所做的工作,我們提出了經由工作場所預防慢性病的公共衛生方法。除依賴證據外,該方法為雇主制定了一項有說服力的預防干預商務案例。
