Shade Planning for America's Schools [pdf 1Mb]. This manual was created to support school communities in their implementation of CDC's Guidelines for School Programs to Prevent Skin Cancer, and can help district school health or wellness councils, and school health teams, ensure that school grounds have adequate shade.

Non-Federal Publications*

Fit, Healthy, and Ready to Learn: A School Health Policy Guide. Produced by the National State Boards of Education (NASBE), this document provides direction to states, school districts, and individual schools on establishing an overall policy framework for school health programs. It provides sample policies that states, school districts, and public and private schools can adapt or revise to fit their local needs and governance frameworks.
