Davenport, IA -- State and Federal officials have established a joint federal/state Mobile Disaster Recovery Center. The Mobile Disaster Recovery Center will visit the following counties on the dates indicated:

Monday, May 14, 2001 (One Day Only)
Clinton County
City Hall (City Council Chambers)
917 Third Street
Camanche, Iowa

Tuesday, May 15, 2001 (One Day Only)
Jackson County
City Hall
411 Broad Street
Sabula, Iowa

The Mobile Disaster Recovery Center operating hours will be from 7:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

The Mobile Disaster Recovery Center is designed to provide more detailed program information to those who have already applied for assistance under President Bush's May 2 disaster declaration and who may have further questions. Representatives of state, federal, and voluntary agencies will be present, including loan officers from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The disaster programs available include temporary housing, individual and family grants, and other aid programs. Please note that financial assistance is not directly provided from this center.

Applicants are encouraged to register by using FEMA's toll-free registration number: 1-800-462-9029. Those with hearing and speech impairments can register by calling 1-800-462-7585. The telephone numbers are operational from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
