NWS Seeks Comments on Hydrology Program

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) is conducting a survey on our hydrologic program. The purpose of the survey, conducted in partnership with the federal government as part of the American Customer Satisfaction Index, is to help the NWS improve its flood and water forecast information services. NWS flood and water forecast information services include flash flood and river flood warnings, watches and statements; recreational and water supply forecasts; precipitation analysis information; and general river level information including historical records of high flows and impacts of these water levels.

The NWS has contracted the CFI Group, a third party research and consulting firm, to administer the survey.  Your answers are voluntary, but your opinions are very important.  Your responses will be completely confidential and you will never be identified by name.

The survey will be available through Sep 23 on the Internet at http://www.cfigroup.net/NWSHydroSurvey2008. It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

The results of the survey will be made available in mid October at the NWS Hydrologic Services web site http://www.weather.gov/os/water/index.shtml
