Another Temperature Record Set

The Rapid City Regional Airport set another record high temperature Tuesday, March 20, which was also the first day of Spring.  The new high temperature of 83 degrees broke both the daily high of 81 set in 1997 and the all-time March record high of 82 degrees most recently reached just last week on March 12.  So far this month, temperatures have reached 80 degrees twice, tying the highest number of 80 degree days in March set in 1946 and 1993.

The downtown Rapid City National Weather Service Office also set a new record high of 79 degrees, exceeding the previous record of 78 from 1997.
