Herbert Hoover made a lot of discoveries growing up in West Branch. So can your kids. Many things to do at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site are great for families with children. See the schedule of events for what's happening.

Field trips for schools and organized groups may be booked through the Presidential Library and Museum. Educators and parents may download free curriculum materials to prepare for a visit.

Junior Ranger activities include interviewing a park ranger and learning about the historic site.

The Junior Ranger program helps kids get involved and learn more about Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. Anyone can become a Junior Ranger by completing activities during a visit to the park.

Get a free Junior Ranger Activity Book (PDF file, 1.8 MB) from the Visitor Center. Follow the activity instructions in the booklet. When the booklet is complete return to the Visitor Center to receive your official Herbert Hoover National Historic Site Junior Ranger badge and certificate.

Did You Know?
The West Branch Schoolhouse was built in 1853 making it the oldest building at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. The town's Quakers also used the one-room building as their first meetinghouse.
