The
CRISP database provides a user interface to search for scientific concepts,
emerging trends and techniques, and to identify specific projects and/or
investigators. CRISP contains only Research and Development (R&D) awards
from 1972 to present. The mechanisms excluded in the database are Training
Programs (A), Health Professions (E), Community Service (H) and Inter/Intra
Agency Agreements (Y). Most of the research falls within the broad category of
extramural projects, grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements conducted
primarily by universities, hospitals, and other research institutions. For
those interested in particular diseases or conditions, NIH provides reports in
specific disease categories; please note, however, that because of the
multidisciplinary and cooperative nature of science, a single award may be
coded in several disease or condition reporting areas. Information on NIH
