Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) and it’s rescue partners will be working together to save extra lives this holiday season. On December 23rd and 24th, many of the valley rescue groups have committed to saving at least one more life for the holidays. They will be at the east and west shelters taking in more animals into their already full rescue groups.
The valley has seen an influx of animals in the animal welfare community this year. Everybody has more animals than normal right now. All the groups are pulling their belt loops a little tighter to save a few more dogs and cats in danger of being put down.
MCACC’s intake numbers have been high all year. This November, 4,934 animals came into the shelter. Last November, there were 4,480 animals brought in. Every month has shown increased numbers. The rescue community is helping to save lives. We need the rest of the community to step in and help as well. Now is a great time to give an animal the greatest gift of all – life and love.
