Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will host Gen. Lee Nam Shin, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Republic of Korea, for the 23rd U.S.-Korean Military Committee Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001.
There will be an honors cordon at the Pentagon River Entrance at 9 a.m. EST, followed by private meetings in the Pentagon.
On Thursday, Nov. 15, Gen. Lee will lay wreaths at both the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery and the Korean War Memorial. He will also attend the Security Consultative Meeting on Thursday with Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Korean Defense Minister Kim Dong-Shin. A separate press advisory will discuss media coverage for the Security Consultative Meeting.
Gen. Lee arrived in Washington on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, and will depart on Friday, Nov. 16, 2001.
Media wishing to cover the honors cordon prior to the Military Committee Meeting should arrive at the Pentagon River Entrance no later than 8:40 a.m. EST on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, and must contact the Chairman's Public Affairs Office at (703) 697-4272 in advance.
