In October of 1981 the research hospital was renamed the Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center in honor of the former chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations. Sen. Magnuson was involved in support of biomedical research at NIH since 1937. Photos of the lobby at the entrance to the hospital are seen below.
