Alan B. Zonderman, Ph.D., Senior Investigator |

Dr. Zonderman received his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts in 1973. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1977. After completing postdoctoral fellowship in multivariate statistics at the University of California, Berkeley, he joined the NIA as a Senior Staff Fellow in the Personality, Stress, and Coping Section of the Laboratory of Personality & Cognition. In 1990, Dr. Zonderman was promoted to Senior Investigator in the Cognition Section, and in 1997 he was appointed Section Chief. Dr. Zonderman's research focuses on longitudinal studies designed to distinguish normative from pathological changes in cognition, the extent to which these changes predict morbidity and mortality, and the modulators of cognitive performance over the life span.
