What is the SEC-LLC?

The SEC-LLC promotes Defense Nuclear Security’s mission of protecting NNSA personnel, facilities, nuclear weapons, and information from a full spectrum of threats, most notably the threat of nuclear terrorism. Established by NNSA, the center cooperates with all Department of Energy facilities to collect security-related information to help make NNSA’s facilities more secure.

What is a Lessons Learned?

Knowledge and experience, positive or negative, derived from actual events shared to promote positive information or prevent recurrence of negative events; benefit from the experiences of others.

What is a Best Practice?

A positive example of work processes, procedures, good ideas, or solutions that "work" and are solidly grounded upon actual experience in operations, training, and exercises.

What is a Success Story?

An exemplary initiative that has shown notable achievement in its specific environment and that may provide useful information to others.

You can downloand the fillable templates for a lessons learned, best practice or success story online to submit to your POC after a DC review.

Who is responsible for completing the lessons learned templates?

The originator, must determine which type of document they would like to submit. It is then your responsibility to ensure that the information detailed in your template is in comliance with local and Departmental regulations pertaining to the protection of classified and unclassified controlled information.
