The Honorable Thomas Hall, Assistant Secretary of Defense (Reserve Affairs) hosted the 2007 Department of Defense Reserve Family Readiness Awards presentation at the Hall of Heroes in the Pentagon on February 15th, 2008.

This year’s DoD Reserve Family Readiness Award winners are:

Air Force Reserve – 944th Mission Support Flight, Luke Air Force Base, AZ
Air National Guard – 144th Fighter Wing, Fresno, CA
Army National Guard – 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery, Milwaukee, WI
Army Reserve – 108th Training Command, Charlotte, NC
Coast Guard Reserve – Port Security Unit 308, Gulfport, MS
Marine Forces Reserve – 2nd Battalion, 24th Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Chicago, IL
Navy Reserve – Naval Air Systems Command (NASC-6066), Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD

The award was established in 2000 to recognize the National Guard and Reserve units with the very best programs in place to support their families. Leaders and family members from these units, representing the seven Reserve components, were on hand to receive the award. In addition to formal recognition each unit also received a cash award from the Military Officers of America Association. The cash may be used to further their family support efforts.
