ARMY

GTE Government Systems Corp., Taunton, Mass., is being awarded a $9,013,134 modification to a firm-fixed-price/time and materials contract to exercise options for Common Hardware Software-2 (CHS-2) Program Customer Orders for battlefield support automated systems. Items include both ruggedized and non-ruggedized computers and peripheral items to include workstations, handheld terminal units, printers, uninterruptible power supplies, mass storage devices, software and software maintenance. Also acquired are technical and engineering support services. Work will be performed in Taunton, Mass., and is expected to be completed by April 10, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 50 bids solicited on April 21, 1993, and three bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-94-C-N853).

Hughes Aircraft Co., El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $10,064,838 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for a value engineering change proposal (VECP) for the repackaging of modules supporting the Enhanced Position Location Reporting System (EPLRS), the Army's principal digital communications backbone system for brigades and below. Work will be performed in El Segundo, Calif. (90%); and Forest, Miss. (10%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 6, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-96-C-C762).

Rock Island Integrated Services Inc., (a joint venture between DEL GEN Inc. and Holmes and Narver Services Inc.), Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., is being awarded a $10,377,235 increment as part of a $57,234,904 (base year plus options) firm-fixed-price contract for base operations of public works (operations, maintenance and repair of fixed plants and systems, pest control, roads and grounds, buildings and structure and unscheduled services) for Rock Island Arsenal. Work will be performed in Rock Island, Ill., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 110 bids solicited on Dec. 4, 1996, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA08-97-C-0037).

Allied Signal, Integrated Avionics Division, Teterboro, N.J., is being awarded a $3,500,000 increment as part of a $27,052,762 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (with two ceiling priced firm-fixed-priced production options) for engineering and manufacturing development of a Mortar Fire Control System (MFCS). Work will be performed in Teterboro, N.J., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the electronic bulletin board on May 9, 1997, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. (DAAE30-97-C-1087).

McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, Huntington Beach, Calif., is being awarded an $8,903,862 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for Lot IV of Mast Mounted Sights (surveillance instrument) for the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter. Work will be performed in Huntington Beach, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Feb. 28, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on June 4, 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, St. Louis, Mo. (DAAJ09-96-C-0311).

NAVY

AMEWAS, Inc., Lexington Park, Md., is being awarded a $141,434,394 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the development and operation of the Stimulation and Simulation Division to support the Air Combat Environment Test Environment Facilities. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md., and is expected to be completed by July 2002. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 272 proposals solicited and four offers received. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-97-D-1481).

Eagan, McAllister Associates, Inc., Lexington Park, Md., is being awarded a $30,653,676 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for engineering and computer programming support for the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division and the Naval Air Systems Command Patuxent River, Md. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md., and is expected to be completed by September 2002. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 129 proposals solicited and six offers received. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-97-D-1470).

Lockheed Martin Corp., Tactical Aircraft Systems, Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $6,499,883 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-97-C-0038 for the Air Vehicle Prognostics and Health Manager Demonstration for the Joint Strike Fighter Program. Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas, and is expected to be completed by September 2000. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Morrison Knudsen Corp., Cleveland, Ohio, is being awarded a $2,233,884 modification to previously awarded contract N62467-93-D-1106 for environmental remedial action for site remediation at Naval Air Station, Glenview, Ill. The basic total contract amount is not to exceed $300,000,000. Work will be performed in Glenview, Ill., and is expected to be completed by December 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southern Division, North Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity.
