ARMY

General Dynamics Land Systems Inc., Sterling Heights, Mich., is being awarded a $68,115,417 modification to a firm-fixed-price multi-year contract for funding of year-three long lead material for 120 M1A2 Abrams tank upgrades. Work will be performed at Lima, Ohio (80%); Tallahassee, Fla. (11%); Anniston, Ala. (4%); Scranton, Pa. (3%); Imperial Valley, Calif. (1%); and Muskegon, Mich. (1%), and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on June 30, 1995. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-95-C-0292).

Lockheed Martin Vought Systems Corp., Grand Prairie, Texas, is being awarded a $75,190,857 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 29 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Launchers for Korea; offset administration costs; and 50% of not-to-exceed costs associated with break in launcher production line. Work will be performed in Dallas, Texas (95%); and Camden, Ark. (5%), and is expected to be completed by July 31, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Dec. 30, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (Prov.), Redstone Arsenal, Ala. (DAAH01-96-C-0093).

AIR FORCE

Rapid Power Technologies, Inc., Brookfield, Conn., was awarded on August 20, a $13,220,144 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for up to 550 fifty-kilowatt and up to 200 one hundred-kilowatt solid state electrical ground power generators applicable to various aircraft. Funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. Work is expected to be completed by August 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 32 firms solicited and 7 proposals received. Solicitation began May 1997; negotiations were completed August 1997. Sacramento Air Logistics Center, McClellan AFB, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04606-97/D-0123).

Hughes Training, Inc., Arlington, Texas, is being awarded an $8,771,307 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for concurrency updated to 31 Block 30 Unit Training Devices and 22 Block 40 Unit Training Devices in support of the F-16 aircraft. Work is expected to be completed by June 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-92/C-0003).

VSE Corp., Chesapeake, Va., is being awarded an $8,000,000 time-and-material contract to provide for System Engineering and Technical Support through devices, guided missiles, guided and unguided bombs, flares, chaff, rockets, ammunition, aircraft fuel tanks, drones, chemical munitions, support equipment, and explosive ordnance disposal items. This effort will include project, configuration, and logistics management, acquisition support, system engineering, quality assurance and weapon safety. Work is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 116 firms solicited and 3 proposals received. Solicitation began December 1996; negotiations were completed July 1997. Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill AFB, Utah, is the contracting activity (F42630-97/D-0284).

NAVY

Lockheed Martin Corp., Tactical Defense Systems, St. Paul, Minn., is being awarded a $35,600,000 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-94-D-5204 for the production of AN/UYQ-70(V) Advanced Display System (ADS) equipment and associated support services for the SEA91W5 Program Office. Work will be performed in Eagan, Minn. (50%), and Johnstown, Pa. (50%), and is expected to be completed by December 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

DEFENSE COMMISSARY AGENCY

National Beef Packing Company of Kansas City, Mo., is being awarded a $21,119,225 firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract to provide fresh beef products to DeCA commissaries. Work will be performed at Liberal, Kansas with delivery to multiple sites throughout DeCA's Northeast Region. Performance under this contract is expected to be completed by September 30, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Twenty-nine firms were solicited and seven offers were received. The contracting activity is the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA02-97-D-0024).

Work will be performed at Friona, Texas with delivery to multiple sites throughout DeCA's Northeast Region. Performance under this contract is expected to be completed by September 30, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Twenty-nine firms were solicited and seven offers were received. The contracting activity is the Defense Commissary Agency, (DeCA02-97-D-0026).
