NAVY

Rockwell International Corporation, Collins Avionics & Communications Division, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a $13,162,500 firm-fixed-price contract for 654 Control Display Navigation Units for installation in various Navy and Air Force aircraft. Work will be performed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is expected to be completed in November 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity (N00421-98-C-1091)

Raytheon Electronic Systems of Marlborough, Mass., is being awarded a $6,033,250 delivery order under the Navy Extremely High Frequency Satellite Communication (NESP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract. This delivery order provides retrofit kits for processor upgrades, retrofit kits for low voltage power supplies and field engineering support for NESP through firm-fixed-price and time and material line items. Funds in the amount of $1,749,873.87 are FY98 Operations and Maintenance (Navy) funds and $4,283,375.89 is FY98 Other Procurement (Navy). Work will be performed in Marlborough, Mass. (50 %), Waltham, Mass. (25 %) and Andover, Mass. (25 %) and is expected to be completed by November 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N00039-97-D-0013).

CORRECTION: On January 23, we announced a $117,112,046 contract modification for McDonnell Douglas Corporation, St. Louis. Mo. The correct amount should have read $177,112,046.

ARMY

Utah State University, Logan, Utah, is being awarded $125,000 as part of a not-to-exceed $15,000,000 (if all options are exercised) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for professional technical support services. The contractor will provide Geographic Information Support Services to manage, analyze, and display a variety of environmental and training

information pertinent to management of natural resources on military land. Work will be performed at various locations in the United States, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, and is expected to be completed by Dec 31, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Nov. 14, 1997. The contracting activity is the National Guard Bureau, Falls Church, Va. (DAHA90-98-D-0005).

TRW Inc., Space & Technology Division, Redondo Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $21,250,000 increment of a $42,500,000 modification to a $131,500,000 cost-plus-award-fee completion contract to add field testing at the U.S. Army High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility, to an existing contract under which a Tactical High Energy Laser (THEL) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstrator is being designed and developed. The THEL Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) is a joint U.S.-Israeli program whose purpose is to evaluate the effectiveness of a THEL in negating the threat posed by short-range artillery rockets. The modified contract will result in a field-tested THEL Demonstrator by the end of calendar year 1998. Work will be performed in Redondo Beach, Calif. (61%); and White Sands Missile Range, N.M. (39%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on July 23, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Space & Strategic Defense Command, Huntsville, Ala. (DASG60-96-C-0155).

General Dynamics Land Systems Inc., Sterling Heights, Mich., is being awarded a $30,997,963 modification to a multi-year firm-fixed-price contract for Abrams M1A2 upgrade tank multi-year-four long lead material funding and Abrams M1A2 upgrade tank multi-year-four system enhancement program, long lead material funding. Work will be performed in Lima, Ohio (80%); Tallahassee, Fla. (11%); Anniston, Ala. (4%); Scranton, Pa. (3%); Imperial Valley, Calif. (1%); and Muskegon, Mich. (1%), and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on June 30, 1995. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-93-C-0292).
