Non-Drug Therapy for Recurrent Fainting
|
This study tests experimental procedures for treating recurrent fainting, also known as neurocardiogenic syncope, vasovagal syncope, or neurally mediated hypotension. The experimental procedures in this study do not involve the use of medications.
The entire study lasts approximately 8 weeks and is divided into inpatient and outpatient stays, according to the participant's individual needs. Tapering and discontinuation of any potentially interfering medications will be determined on an individual basis. There is no cost for participation. Travel expenses to and from the NIH Clinical Center will be covered for the participant and, if needed, a caregiver.
This study is sponsored by the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at the NIH. This study is carried out in compliance with testing and safety standards of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
