Mark A. Nishan
Executive Officer for Leadership, Learning and Workplace
Fairness
Mark Nishan has been the executive officer for Leadership, Learning, and Workplace Fairness at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency
(OCC), since October 17, 2005.
In this role, Mr. Nishan oversees the agency's Continuing Education and Workplace Fairness and Equal Opportunity Divisions. He is responsible for
overseeing the agency's succession planning and leadership development programs.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Nishan served as the OCC's Chief of Staff and Public Affairs, from September 1999. He previously served as acting deputy
to the Comptroller, from August 1998. In 1997, he was selected as deputy comptroller for Continuing Education.
From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Nishan was director for Compliance and Bank Supervision in the Central District. He previously held positions as the
Chicago Field Office director in the Central District and director for Strategic Planning in the Washington office.
In addition to having held numerous managerial and bank supervisory positions, Mr. Nishan has led several agency-wide task forces.
Mr. Nishan joined the OCC in 1978 as a Presidential Management Intern.
He has a B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a M.B.A. from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Mr. Nishan is married and has two children.
