Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Major General Leonard D. Holder Jr., United States Army, for
appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding
general, United States Army Combined Arms Center. Since June 1993, he has
served as the commanding general, 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized), United
States Army Europe and Seventh Army.
Major General Holder was born on January 19, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas.
