This is probably the most comprehensive Lincoln site online.  Its index is arranged in 10 sections with links to various subjects.  They are Biographical Information,  Books, Discussion, Places, Photo Tours of Lincoln Places, News and Events, Resources, Search, Speeches and Writings, Students and Teachers.  The Books section includes links to new Lincoln books and Lincoln related bookstores as well as a list for parents and teachers.  The News and Events section has information about Lincoln authors, books, discoveries, events and more.  The Resources section lists Lincoln associations and bookstores, libraries and museums and periodicals.  This is an excellent site.

The memorial landscape design was conceived of by noted landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. He envisioned a memorial of strength and simplicity, sentiment and reason. He wanted the memorial to remain simple, so as not to overwhelm the "familiar associations" of the area with the Lincolns.
