Eager to learn more about the natural and cultural landscapes and treasures of public lands in the Pacific Northwest?  The BLM provides many sites and programs to help you discover our national heritage. 

Cape Blanco Lighthouse

Cape Blanco Lighthouse, first operational on December 20, 1870, is the southernmost lighthouse in Oregon and holds at least four Oregon records: oldest continuously operating light, most westerly, highest above the sea (245 feet), and Oregon's first woman lighthouse keeper. more>>

Dean Creek

If you plan on traveling the Oregon Coast through Reedsport on U.S. Highway 101 or are crossing the Coast Range to the Interstate 5 corridor on State Route 38, be sure to stop at the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area. The BLM maintains a series of pastures next to the highway that are the year-round residence for a herd of 60 to 100 Roosevelt elk.

West Eugene Wetlands

The West Eugene Wetlands Project is a cooperative venture managed by the BLM's Eugene District to protect and restore wetland ecosystems in the Southern Willamette Valley. This unique project involves federal, state, and local agencies and organizations in a partnership to manage lands and resources in an urban area for multiple public benefits. more>>

Table Rocks

The rocks are named for their relationship along the Rogue River: Upper Table Rock being upstream, and Lower Table Rock being downstream. Unlike the surrounding round hills, the buttes have flat, crew cut top summits that abruptly change to vertical cliff faces with columnar slabs that drape down over 800 feet to meet the valley floor. more>>

Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument Information Center

The CSNM information center, run by Friends of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument (FCSNM), provides a gateway to the monument lands. Nestled along the Historic Greensprings Highway (Hwy 66), the information center contains photographic history of the monument and the Greensprings community. The information center is located near mile marker 17 (next to the Green Springs Inn) along Hwy 66, at the intersection of East Hyatt Lake Rd. The BLM is dedicated to working with community partners like FCSNM in managing the monument.

Smullin Visitor Center

The visitor center is on the river near the town of Galice and is approximately 20 miles from I-5 on the Merlin-Galice Road. The center is called the Smullin Visitor Center and is located at the Rand National Historic Site. more>>

McGregor Park and Visitor Center

Barrier-free facilities at McGregor Park provide access to restrooms, trails, picnic areas, a playground, fishing ramps, interpretive displays, and wildlife and salmon viewing. more>>
