You are not alone. Up to 80 percent of new mothers experience some form of baby blues.

PPD is more than the baby blues, and it won't go away on its own. Help is available.

Talking about PPD is the first step.

1 in 8 women will experience postpartum depression.

Know the warning signs.

Encourage new mothers to speak up about their feelings.

Resources are available for both you and your patients.

If you think your wife, daughter, sister, or friend is suffering from postpartum depression, you can help.

Encourage her to talk, and take time to listen. Learn what help is available in your area.

The support of a loved one is an important step to recovery.
