A daytime fish survey via electrofishing boat was conducted on June 5, 2001. Three 15-minute runs were devoted to collecting all fish sampled and an additional run specifically targeting largemouth bass were conducted. The total pickup runs yielded nine species in the following order of abundance; bluegill, pumpkinseed, yellow perch, largemouth bass, black crappie, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, white sucker and white perch. This is a typical species distribution for warmwater ponds throughout the Commonwealth. The combined total pickup and targeted sampling for largemouth bass yeilded 48 fish ranging from 63mm (2 1/2 inches) to 537mm (21 inches) several of which were over five pounds. Of these, nearly half (46%) were at or above the state's minimum length limit of 12 inches.
